Learn all about: Helpful Article for Ghost Hunting

Ghost Hunting Equipment Essentials

The voice recorder is an extremely important tool in real ghost video. The recorder provides you with the ability to capture audio, and if your luck, the ability to catch a EVP. These kinds of audio anomalies commonly known as electronic voice phenomenon are some of the most substantial ghost and spirit evidencethere is. Even though some will contend that they're nothing more than other people within the groups talking, paranormal investigators and those you do the EVP work will contend that audio sessions are performed during a highly professional manner, and all of team members are accounted for during audio work. Most of these groups may have one individual perform the talking by having a shut up period for the rest of the group.

Sudden chills. Disembodied whispers. Translucent images appearing in photos. The disconcerting feeling that you are not quite alone in an empty house. An unexplained tap on the shoulder.

Whether you are a believer in paranormal phenomena or not, most of us will not deny that there is much we can not explain. Some of us will experience these things in our lifetime. Some of us will dismiss these things and go about our lives without delving any deeper into the unknown. And then, there's the rest of us.

The techniques used in ghost hunting are as varied as those who partake in the venture. The level of skepticism, tools utilized and methods applied are different for all of us. If you are investigating the existence of spirits, you obviously have your own reasons and ideas as to how to go about it. From my personal experience, I would like to share some tips.

1. Go in with a healthy dose of skepticism.

This may sound strange. Obviously, if we are undergoing an investigation, we believe in ghosts, right? Sure. Being skeptical does not mean disbelieving. A healthy skeptic believes, but does not go on blind faith. It is very important to use observational skills and experimentation in determining the validity of evidence. For instance, if one of the claims of a haunted location is ghostly footsteps in the attic, it's important to investigate the attic for signs of an animal, pipes, vents, or a broken window allowing breezes to knock things around. Accepting all evidence at face value not only limits the solid results of your investigation, but may lessen your credibility as an investigator.

2. Learn your equipment.

Effective ghost hunting requires the use of technology. If you believe in psychics and mediums, they can be a helpful addition to an investigation. However, in order to capture evidence, you need equipment. There are many choices in this category. Some popular tools are video cameras, tape recorders, cameras, dowsing rods and thermal cameras. Each of these tools require a different level of technological know-how, but it is important to be educated on and comfortable with whatever equipment you choose. Spend some quality time getting to know your tools, and never save the first experience with them for a real investigation. The more confidence you have in your ability to use your equipment to its fullest potential, the smoother your investigation will go and the better your evidence will be.

3. Passion, patience & persistence.

Enough said. Without these three things, you will become bored and sloppy and miss out on a lot of potential evidence.

4. Be aware of your surroundings at all times.

Not noticing that someone in your group lit a cigarette can lead to false evidential photos of "ghostly" smoke. Make sure you do a complete walk-through of the location in daylight before beginning an investigation. Become familiar with the layout, smells and sounds of the place before you even think of setting up equipment. Also, be fully aware during the investigation. Having a strict policy of no smoking and no perfumes will save you a lot of wasted excitement over smoke and smells. Be sure to talk to the owner/residents of the location and gather pertinent information about what smells or sounds are commonplace and should not be considered in the investigation.

5. Be respectful.

You must be respectful not just to the owners of the location, but also to your group members and even the ghosts! Remember that whatever is lurking around the premises was most likely a living person like yourself. They may be attached to the location because it was their home, because they have special memories of the place or simply because they have not figured out how to move on yet. Becoming rude or disrespectful to the ghosts can do one of two things: cause a lack of communication, and therefore evidence, because you have offended them, or it can create a hostile environment, which in dealing with a poltergeist or inhuman spirit can spell chaos and even danger for you and your group.

Respecting the location and its owners means not destroying anything, being mindful of your actions, and going about things according to the rules set out by the owner.

These five steps are sure to make your investigation run a bit more smoothly. I'm happy to share them with you, for the growth of the field. Happy hunting!

That is a voice recorder and a camera. The camera does not need to be a digital version, but can be a 35mm, but I would suggest if you are using a 35mm film to use 400 speed or higher. The advantage of a digital is the quantity of pictures, with the plus of a SD card, could be stored in your camera. And if you have the available screen on your camera to review pictures, this will give you ability to review some of your pictures right on the spot on the investigation. Granted it may be difficult to find anomalies on this small screen, and you might be able to determine mysterious objects, to which you will be able to debunk right at that moment.

These 2 kinds of equipment are very important and also the basics of the ghost hunting gear. You might add a simple and inexpensive tool that can be used for detecting potential ghosts, they are commonly called Dowsing rods. You might be able to pick up a decent pair of these for about 5 bucks or of up to sixty dollars. These are great in case you cannot afford to purchase a EMF detector, or a digital thermometer. .

{What Do You Need for a paranormal Investigation?

Many people believe that they will need tons of expensive paranormal equipment to visit ghost videos. That's not true. Yes, having expensive high tech ghost hunting gear could improve your chances of capturing some historic ghostly evidence, but ghost hunting could be completed with few tools.
