Scary Ghost Stories

Scary Books to Sink Your Teeth Into - Part 3 by Enokson

How can you tell if something is or is not the "real deal" and not just a fad or deception put in the spotlight for some random person? This concern is further heightened when it comes to the subject of paranormal phenomena, or events that you can not explain why do not conform to existing rules or scientific theories. The truth of the matter is that it is extremely difficult to distinguish between reality and fiction, especially when it comes to the validity of teams or individuals who claim to be paranormal investigators. Are they really legit? What is the underlying motivation of the people involved? If the motivation is for advertising, personal recognition, financial incentives and / or because it is the popular trend and we all do, that most people not involved in any of those reasons are not legit and everything I say should be taken with a grain of salt. However, there are people in the field of paranormal research is unique in that "the pursuit of truth," and gain a greater understanding in what science claims to be irrelevant because the rules and theories can not explain, and for some evidence or proof that something bigger is out there for them to believe they are only a small part of a much wider picture. That, in turn, these paranormal investigators share their findings with others only to enlighten. To finally make people realize that not everything is black and white, but there are a lot of gray in there too. A lot of gray - the gray that only science can not even begin to comprehend.UNDERSTANDING "word PARANORMAL'The paranormal consists of two parts: para and normal. In most definitions of the word paranormal is described as something that is beyond or against what is considered scientifically possible. The definition implies that the scientific explanation of the world around us in the "normal" world and "for" is above, beyond, against, or against part of its meaning . The word paranormal is a general term used to describe a variety of anomalous phenomena observed or events that deviates from what is expected (an anomaly) according to existing rules or scientific theory. The term paranormal is used in parapsychology, psychic phenomena that is reported as telepathy, ESP, telekinesis, reincarnation, ghosts and apparitions. The term is also applied to UFOs, some creatures that fall under the scope of cryptozoology (the study of hidden animals "- the study of / search for animals which fall outside of contemporary zoological catalogs) reported phenomena surrounding the Bermuda Triangle, and other non-physical subject. Although many unexplained phenomena that fall under the term paranormal, this article focuses specifically on the ghosts and spirits, and to enter a particular team in the Midwest, whose main purpose is to investigate and discredit any claims reported of paranormal phenomena such phenomena.THE MAKE A REAL PARANORMAL INVESTIGATORReturning back to the question, "How can you tell if something is or is not the" real deal "and not just a fad or deception put on the focus for some random person? "So, how can you really say that someone who claims to be a paranormal investigator is actually the real deal? A paranormal investigator is an honest and genuine person who truly believes in life after death. All his life has been intertwined with the personal experiences of the paranormal, have made it through watching and / or feeling that something inexplicable, but whose interest in the paranormal was ingrained in them from the beginning by a person is or has been close to them, such as a relative or friend. And thereafter there was a strong push for the truth to anything inexplicable desire to find answers was the motivation that keeps them constantly moving forward despite any setback. This combination of variables makes a paranormal investigator, who is the "real deal", someone who wants answers and share their findings with those who claim to be skeptics and those who are already believers, but only wants a physical evidence. To call your interest or hobby, even a fad or deception would be an insult to them. Due to a trend that usually there is a short-term trend, which in his case has been a life long task, and in no way is this a trick to those who take what they do very seriously and in some cases is very personal for them. ages A paranormal investigator OF BEGINNINGFrom young, Jason and Darren Baker, who was born and raised in Indiana had a strong interest in unexplained phenomena. His grandfather, a Christian minister unconventional and Navy veteran, he put his passion for research of the legends, myths and history to his grandchildren. his grandfather to drive awareness of the unknown was both consuming and intriguing. He spoke of monsters, demons, ghosts, apparitions and haunted locations such as the lost world of Atlantis - the legendary island actively discussed throughout classical antiquity. He reminded his grandchildren to never let anyone or anything cloud their minds with false beliefs, but always ask questions and reach their own answers and conclusions. Fortunately for Jason and Darren, his grandfather lived nearby and the two brothers were able to spend much time with his grandfather, reading books and asking questions. The quality time that Jason and Darren went with his grandfather only fuels his desire to learn more. The topics Jason were initially interested in ancient civilizations (Anasazi, Maya, Inca, Aztec and Egyptian), paranormal phenomena, volcanoes, ancient ruins, and the interpretation of dreams. As Jason approached her later teens, he found a narrowing interest in the paranormal, mainly focusing on the spirits and ghosts, apparitions, and simply put "the afterlife." As Jason walked into the 20 became certain that his place was in the area of paranormal phenomena. It was his great interest and determination that led him to leave and seek the truth. The search for answers, truth, and the physical evidence, even to help make sense of their own personal experiences inexplicable was a major motivating factor for him. However, Jason also wanted to provide evidence to others that there was another world that exists alongside our own world - a supernatural dimension in which life after death exists, and science does not support simply because he can not accept the possibility of such an existence. Jason effort to find answers was strongly supported and encouraged by his family and friends. Especially the support of his older brother Jason, Darren, who has been constantly by Jason from the beginning, encourage and support him, even when outsiders laugh and make fun of them - because for them, the fascination of two brothers with the paranormal is complete nonsense. Due to this strong support system, Jason took his search for a step further and searched for other like-minded individuals around the world by designing and creating your first website as a "protest" to other individuals Generation X. As a result of this effort, in 1996, the website Xgenco born (www.xgenco.com). Xgenco web site not only provided an opportunity for people around the world to communicate with other like-minded individuals, but to also meet, talk, and even join together research. During the years since the beginning of many Xgenco people have visited the site and shared their personal stories and experiences which can not explain to seek answers and support to those who have been in similar situations. The astonishing display of interest by visiting the web site maintained power only wish Jason and validate their reasons for wanting to explore deeper into the paranormal world. Several years ago the paranormal research group in Xgenco website became so great that he could no longer be contained under the name Xgenco alone. Jason took the paranormal research group and provided the group with its own website and separate identity. Paranormal research group known as MRIPA (Midwestern researchers and investigators from Paranormal Activity). The separation of the group on the site Xgenco was received with such intensity that quickly took off by itself, not only for contacts and research applications, but by people who simply were curious and had many questions about the paranormal and the group MRIPA in general. The research team has grown in size and mounted several key team members that they were all in the pursuit of truth and shares the same passion for finding answers to the paranormal. But now again the team goes through another metamorphosis to bring more dedicated individuals who want the opportunity not only to investigate and research paranormal activity, but to also help those in need of answers, and to show the public that it is a reliable and dedicated team of professional people who take this very seriously and in some cases very personal. Fortunately nowadays with the increasing media attention and access to other professional groups, the field of paranormal phenomena is no longer taboo to talk about, but now instead of an opening for knowledge and insight into the world of the unknown . MRIPA - THE NEW ERA OF PARANORMAL investigators and researchers INVESTIGATORSMidwestern Paranormal Activity (MRIPA) is a nonprofit group, professionals whose main objective is to increase public awareness about the paranormal and collect evidence and to find normal explanations of paranormal phenomena in order to disprove its existence. Armed with skepticism and high technical team, the team MRIPA set to cover the places that are requested, submitted and approved for research. With a fully functional file, application form online research, simple navigation options and contact information, the Administrator, Case Manager, and principal investigators are easily accessible throughout the day. Many owners of the residence as well as established companies, such as the Indiana Historical Society, have been contacted to schedule MRIPA research. After completing an investigation, all data and information obtained is reviewed, discussed with the parties specified, and what measures, if any, should be taken next. The results of an investigation, only with prior approval, to be published on the website MRIPA (www.mripa.net) for all to see. Although MRIPA is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, the team extends to other Midwestern states and some international destinations when possible. MRIPA joined the growing population of researchers in the paranormal and equipment in an effort to gather information about events that can not be indexed, categorized or easily referenced. Together we can work to verify the possibility of paranormal activity, but also at the same time seeking to invalidate and deny the probable or simply ridiculous.THE PARANORMAL RESEARCHERS NEW ERA HAS ARRIVED! * Visit the website at www.mripa.net MRIPA for more information on MRIPA, team members, contact information, the research team, research applications, the history of research, future research, and other information connected. Learn all about: Helpful Article for Ghost Hunting

Ghost Hunting Equipment Essentials

The voice recorder is an extremely important tool in real ghost video. The recorder provides you with the ability to capture audio, and if your luck, the ability to catch a EVP. These kinds of audio anomalies commonly known as electronic voice phenomenon are some of the most substantial ghost and spirit evidencethere is. Even though some will contend that they're nothing more than other people within the groups talking, paranormal investigators and those you do the EVP work will contend that audio sessions are performed during a highly professional manner, and all of team members are accounted for during audio work. Most of these groups may have one individual perform the talking by having a shut up period for the rest of the group.

Sudden chills. Disembodied whispers. Translucent images appearing in photos. The disconcerting feeling that you are not quite alone in an empty house. An unexplained tap on the shoulder.

Whether you are a believer in paranormal phenomena or not, most of us will not deny that there is much we can not explain. Some of us will experience these things in our lifetime. Some of us will dismiss these things and go about our lives without delving any deeper into the unknown. And then, there's the rest of us.

The techniques used in ghost hunting are as varied as those who partake in the venture. The level of skepticism, tools utilized and methods applied are different for all of us. If you are investigating the existence of spirits, you obviously have your own reasons and ideas as to how to go about it. From my personal experience, I would like to share some tips.

1. Go in with a healthy dose of skepticism.

This may sound strange. Obviously, if we are undergoing an investigation, we believe in ghosts, right? Sure. Being skeptical does not mean disbelieving. A healthy skeptic believes, but does not go on blind faith. It is very important to use observational skills and experimentation in determining the validity of evidence. For instance, if one of the claims of a haunted location is ghostly footsteps in the attic, it's important to investigate the attic for signs of an animal, pipes, vents, or a broken window allowing breezes to knock things around. Accepting all evidence at face value not only limits the solid results of your investigation, but may lessen your credibility as an investigator.

2. Learn your equipment.

Effective ghost hunting requires the use of technology. If you believe in psychics and mediums, they can be a helpful addition to an investigation. However, in order to capture evidence, you need equipment. There are many choices in this category. Some popular tools are video cameras, tape recorders, cameras, dowsing rods and thermal cameras. Each of these tools require a different level of technological know-how, but it is important to be educated on and comfortable with whatever equipment you choose. Spend some quality time getting to know your tools, and never save the first experience with them for a real investigation. The more confidence you have in your ability to use your equipment to its fullest potential, the smoother your investigation will go and the better your evidence will be.

3. Passion, patience & persistence.

Enough said. Without these three things, you will become bored and sloppy and miss out on a lot of potential evidence.

4. Be aware of your surroundings at all times.

Not noticing that someone in your group lit a cigarette can lead to false evidential photos of "ghostly" smoke. Make sure you do a complete walk-through of the location in daylight before beginning an investigation. Become familiar with the layout, smells and sounds of the place before you even think of setting up equipment. Also, be fully aware during the investigation. Having a strict policy of no smoking and no perfumes will save you a lot of wasted excitement over smoke and smells. Be sure to talk to the owner/residents of the location and gather pertinent information about what smells or sounds are commonplace and should not be considered in the investigation.

5. Be respectful.

You must be respectful not just to the owners of the location, but also to your group members and even the ghosts! Remember that whatever is lurking around the premises was most likely a living person like yourself. They may be attached to the location because it was their home, because they have special memories of the place or simply because they have not figured out how to move on yet. Becoming rude or disrespectful to the ghosts can do one of two things: cause a lack of communication, and therefore evidence, because you have offended them, or it can create a hostile environment, which in dealing with a poltergeist or inhuman spirit can spell chaos and even danger for you and your group.

Respecting the location and its owners means not destroying anything, being mindful of your actions, and going about things according to the rules set out by the owner.

These five steps are sure to make your investigation run a bit more smoothly. I'm happy to share them with you, for the growth of the field. Happy hunting!

That is a voice recorder and a camera. The camera does not need to be a digital version, but can be a 35mm, but I would suggest if you are using a 35mm film to use 400 speed or higher. The advantage of a digital is the quantity of pictures, with the plus of a SD card, could be stored in your camera. And if you have the available screen on your camera to review pictures, this will give you ability to review some of your pictures right on the spot on the investigation. Granted it may be difficult to find anomalies on this small screen, and you might be able to determine mysterious objects, to which you will be able to debunk right at that moment.

These 2 kinds of equipment are very important and also the basics of the ghost hunting gear. You might add a simple and inexpensive tool that can be used for detecting potential ghosts, they are commonly called Dowsing rods. You might be able to pick up a decent pair of these for about 5 bucks or of up to sixty dollars. These are great in case you cannot afford to purchase a EMF detector, or a digital thermometer. .

{What Do You Need for a paranormal Investigation?

Many people believe that they will need tons of expensive paranormal equipment to visit ghost videos. That's not true. Yes, having expensive high tech ghost hunting gear could improve your chances of capturing some historic ghostly evidence, but ghost hunting could be completed with few tools.

Washington Ghosts

If any city has ghosts then Washington has ghosts.  If you do decide to ghost hunt in Washington think about the Homeland Security implications of carrying lots of exotic ghost hunting equipment around Washington.  It could get you arrested which would be a story, but not the one you had hoped for.
